Sweet little Checkers has not had an easy start to life. She was found as a stray in Philadelphia and was taken to ACCT. She had two kittens who lived (and will soon be available for adoption) and two kittens that were stillborn. Her luck changed when a volunteer from MLAR saw her and her two babies and brought them to a foster home where she cared for her kittens while they were still nursing. Checkers is still a young cat herself. Now that she is spayed, her days of having kittens are behind her. She spent so much time taking care of kittens that she didn't get to be one herself. She is slowly adjusting to being back at the rescue and will allow some pets. Her foster mom said that she is a sweet cat. She will do best in a quiet home with older children and patient owners who will give her the time needed to blossom into the wonderful cat that we know she can be. Could that be you?
