Volunteer Information for Cats

Meet Shirley
Shirley is a 10 years, 9 months old female Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 9 pounds.
Sassy Shirley is approaching an anniversary that no animal in a shelter wants to have - later this summer, she and her sister, Laverne, will be at MLAR for one year. We are hoping that they find a home (or homes) before that happens.
Senior Shirley was found in a home with multiple cats and less than ideal conditions. She had some medical issues that were treated and is doing much better. Shirley is a typical calico with some attitude! She will let you know when she is done with pets. Once she relaxes in a quiet area, she becomes quite social and solicits pets. She does love licky treats and will lick them off of your fingers. She is FIV+ which means her immune system is weakened. She can still have a long, happy life. She also has no teeth (which means she cannot spread FIV to other cats thru bites.) We suspect that she has had multiple litters of kittens in her lifetime. Now she just wants to relax and be spoiled herself. Shirley wants to spend her golden years in a loving home where she is cared for - maybe with her sister, Laverne. Could that be yours?

We’re dedicated to finding the right home for all of our pets, and ensuring that each adoption has the best interest of the pet and the family at heart.
Please note that adoption procedures differ across the MLAR/PSPCA websites, so if you are interested in a particular animal, please check to see which location is the host.
