Meet Athena

Athena is a 2 years, 7 months old female Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 13 pounds and has been with us for 21 days.

Don't let her ominous, angry, smoosh face fool you! She is a sweetheart!

Meet Athena, a beautiful 2.5-year-old spayed Domestic Shorthair who is looking for someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace. As a stray found outside, Athena is still learning that people can be trusted and that she doesn't have to be on guard anymore. She can be a little shy and unsure at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet side comes shining through, and she absolutely loves being pet!

Athena would do best with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. She may initially be avoidant, but with gentle encouragement and respect for her boundaries, she can become a wonderful companion. She has done well with respectful children and can also live with other cats once she has had time to settle in and open up. Her ideal home will give her the time and space to decompress without rushing her, because sometimes the sweetest relationships are the ones that take a little time to build.

If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared -- bring a photo ID, proof of current address and a cat carrier. We are open daily 10:30-5:30pm.
