Parakeets are highly social birds that enjoy observing the world around them, exploring new toys, and learning routines. With time and gentle handling, many become comfortable with their people and may even learn to step up onto a hand or mimic words and sounds. Richie will appreciate a home that understands building trust happens at his pace.

Parakeets can live 10-15 years or more with proper care, making them a long-term commitment. They do best in a spacious cage that allows room for flight and climbing, along with a variety of perches, safe toys, and opportunities for supervised exercise outside the cage. A balanced diet of high-quality pellets, fresh vegetables, limited seeds, and clean water is essential to keeping them healthy and happy.

Richie would love a home that can provide a consistent routine, mental enrichment, and plenty of opportunities to chirp, play, and simply enjoy being part of the family.
